MATERIALS

Required

1. Silver wire: Fine or Sterling, filed or sanded to a smooth point.

2. Smooth, but not slick paper, (hot press watercolor papers or Bristol)

3. (A) Rabbit-skin glue dry grains and

          Dry ground pigment

                               OR

3. (B) Commercially prepared silverpoint ground.

 

Additional Materials:

   Alternative Wires: gold, copper, lead

   Lead-tin Stylus

   Parchment

   Wood panel

   Colored pigments
 

 

 

 

 

TOOLS

Device to hold wire (2mm drafting type lead holder will work with a 12 gauge wire)

Smooth, flat 1” - 1 ½” brush

Finishing sand papers

Burnisher (as used by gilders)

Cups for liquids
